Aims and Objectives:
Trauma Evaluation and Management (TEAMTM) is a standardized introductory course in the evaluation and management of trauma for medical students and multidisciplinary team members. The program includes a three-segment, initial-assessment video demonstration; clinical trauma case scenarios for small group discussion; and skills sessions.
The IMET2000 is the only provider of TEAMTM in Palestine, teaching a safe and reliable method of immediate management of severely injured patients. The program’s core content is adapted from the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) course.
This course specifically aims to:
This Trauma Evaluation and Management (TEAMTM) Program provides the program participant with an overview of the purpose and concepts of immediate management of the injured patient and a basic understanding of the fundamental principles of trauma care, including:
- Rapid, accurate, and physiologic assessment of the patient’s condition.
- Resuscitation, stabilization, and monitoring of the patient, according to priority.
- Preparation for the patient’s inter-hospital transfer, if the patient’s needs exceed the facility’s capabilities.
- Introduction of concepts of injury prevention strategies.
