Dear IMET2000,
We'd like to thank you, most sincerely, for all of the help and support you’ve given us to be able to attend the August Meeting, from the very beginning, we have seen your support for all of our activities.
You have given us the chance to attend the August Meeting, represented by a delegation of eight members, to participate in the general assembly of the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA). This assembly, which is attended by delegations representing more than 100 countries who convene to share ideas, conduct sessions, and vote on proposed laws and changes to the future of the federation, all in the hopes of improving healthcare worldwide by creating a new and better generation of healthcare professionals.
The assembly, where PMSA Palestine by your support has achieved a lot of outstanding success, achievements for history. Here we are concluding what your support helps us to make there:
- The Palestinian delegation was made up of individuals from various Palestinian local committees, who were given both motivational and logistical support in order to represent Palestine in the best way possible. Members of our delegation attended different training sessions as well as exercised their democratic right to vote as full members of the IFMSA.
- While the assembly was ongoing, our delegation learned of the crimes that were being currently committed against our brethren in Gaza and gave a statement that both condemned the ongoing injustice and informed other delegations, and shined the light on the reality that Palestinians experience.
- Our delegation was also able to show the world Palestinian ingenuity and hard work, showing everyone how our wills were forged in the crucible of suffering. During this general assembly, the Palestinian delegation participated and won first place in the exchange fair, which had more than 70 participating countries.
- Our member and the current PMSA-Palestine VPE, Yazan Demaidi, was also elected as the director of the Standing Committee on Professional Exchanges (SCOPE), to lead the world’s biggest and oldest student-run exchange program for the upcoming term.
Our delegation proudly showcased Palestinian resilience and excellency, even in the face of all hardships, from which that, our NMO President could not make it to attend the assembly due to geopolitical circumstances.
