Critical Core Training: Healthcare professionals' Management of COVID 19 Patients with Severe Acute Respiratory Infection (SARI)-session 12

Background:

While most people with COVID-19 develop only mild or uncomplicated illness, approximately 14% develop severe disease that requires hospitalization and oxygen support, and 5% require admission to an intensive care unit. In severe cases, COVID-19 can be complicated by the acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), sepsis and septic shock, multiorgan failure, including acute kidney injury and cardiac injury.

Goal:

To prepare nurses and doctors at critical care unit to deal in professional, safe and effective way with different severity of (SARI) due to coronavirus COVID.

Objectives:

After participating in this program, the participant will be able to:

  1. Discuss the early screening and triage in order to recognize of patients with SARI associated with COVID-19.
  2. Explain strategies for providing infection prevention and control measures.
  3. Describe the evident nursing management of mild COVID-19
  4. Describe the evident nursing management of severe COVID-19
  5. Describe the evident nursing management of critical COVID-19
  6. Compare the effectiveness Oxygen therapy and monitoring methods
  7. Discuss the critical point for Airway management according to European Society of Anesthesiology guideline.
  8. Employ all senses during the airway management and intubation to prevent self-harmful.
  9. Utilize the evidence-based practice in preparing, setting, troubleshooting and disinfection for mechanical ventilator and other airway delivery tools.
  10. Specify the main point for the update of Resuscitation Council UK related to adult advanced life support for COVID-19 patient.
