Background:
While most people with COVID-19 develop only mild or uncomplicated illness, approximately 14% develop severe disease that requires hospitalization and oxygen support, and 5% require admission to an intensive care unit. In severe cases, COVID-19 can be complicated by the acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), sepsis and septic shock, multiorgan failure, including acute kidney injury and cardiac injury.
Goal:
To prepare nurses and doctors at critical care unit to deal in professional, safe and effective way with different severity of (SARI) due to coronavirus COVID.
Objectives:
After participating in this program, the participant will be able to:
- Discuss the early screening and triage in order to recognize of patients with SARI associated with COVID-19.
- Explain strategies for providing infection prevention and control measures.
- Describe the evident nursing management of mild COVID-19
- Describe the evident nursing management of severe COVID-19
- Describe the evident nursing management of critical COVID-19
- Compare the effectiveness Oxygen therapy and monitoring methods
- Discuss the critical point for Airway management according to European Society of Anesthesiology guideline.
- Employ all senses during the airway management and intubation to prevent self-harmful.
- Utilize the evidence-based practice in preparing, setting, troubleshooting and disinfection for mechanical ventilator and other airway delivery tools.
- Specify the main point for the update of Resuscitation Council UK related to adult advanced life support for COVID-19 patient.

nurses and doctors who work in critical care units at Salfit Governmental Hospital.
