IMET2000-Pal Travel Bursary Award for Physicians, General Surgery Elective Course, Mayo Clinic, USA (June 11, 2018- July 06, 2018) Dr. Sadi Abukhalaf.

Dear IMET2000-PAL trustees,

My name is Sadi Abukhalaf, a sixth-year medical student at Al-Quds University, Palestine.

I’d like to convey my acknowledgement and gratitude for the generous support of IMET2000-Pal for my journey to Mayo Clinic, USA to do a general surgery elective from 11th of June to the 6th of July 2018.

It has been a great experience attending one-month elective at one of the top hospitals in the USA. During my elective, I gained a lot of experience and surgical skills. I was directly involved in evaluation and taking care of patients with the trauma surgery team in the emergency department, clinics and the floor. In addition, I attended some of the educational meetings including grand rounds, journal clubs and conferences.  I fully enjoyed this exciting journey which was an exceptional experience on so many levels; culturally and professionally.

IMET2000-PAL has been chosen its candidates on very clear process and does help who really needs help. In summary, my elective to Mayo Clinic was an eye-opening experience, so many thanks to the IMET2000-Pal for your support and I hope I can get back to my country and help other students to have such a wonderful experience.

Sadi Abukhalaf,

Sixth Year Medical Student (MD Candidate), Al-Quds University, Palestine.
