I'm Ibrahim Al-Slaibi a 5th year medical student at Al-Quds University , I would like to thanks IMET2000 for their generous support for me to attend the Association of Surgeons in Training conference 2018 which was held in Edinburgh, UK between 6th and 8th of April/2018.

It was a great experience for me to participate in such international surgical conference , with the participation of many researchers and surgeons from around the world , during the conference I met many of them and we talked about Al-Quds University , Palestinian medical students performance , surgical training In Palestine , and the general situation in Palestine .

I was the only medical student form the Arab world to participate and present a research project , so my poster was attractive to most of the attendance , since there was an Arabic names in the poster ,they were surprised , how a medical students form Palestine did a research project and came over the far distance to UK , to present their work .

During the conference ,I attended many great sessions about surgical training , research methodology and ethics , collaborative research studies , and many other inspirational talks , in addition to that I attended workshops , one of them was about emergency surgery and trauma , I did very well in this workshop , and I was able to answer and discuss the clinical cases along with other surgeons , surgical trainees , British medical students .

During that one the of consultant surgeons said to me that your clinical level is very good , and higher than expected in contrast to your peers .

Finally , I'm very glad to be one of the attendees of this conference to represent Palestine and the Palestinian medical students ,and I'm really thankful for IMET2000Pal for supporting me financially during my journey to UK .
