Infection Prevention and Control for Physicians and Nurses Training: Catheter-associated Urinary Tract Infection (CAUTI) and Surgical Site Infection (SSI)- Session Two

Who Should Attend?

Physicians, Nurses, Patient safety officers, Infection control officers, and others who need to develop their skills.

Aims and Objectives:

This course is designed for physicians and nurses from the governmental health care hospitals of different districts at the west bank, who are working at medical and surgical departments. This program specifically aims to:

  • Identify patients who are at risk for HAI.
  • Describe the scope of the problem of CAUTI and SSI.
  • Review the structure of the surveillance methodology used for data collection.
  • Define key terms and protocol used for collecting CAUTI and SSI.
  • Discuss the CAUTI bundle and SSI bundle.
  • Apply definitions to example case scenarios.
