IMET2000-Pal Pathology Residency Scholarship 2009

"...I have always wondered why had we been chosen by God to be the land of dispute, and never could find a convincing answer, till I heard Mahmoud Darwish saying (we, Palestinians are occupied with hope, that comes and goes, but we can never let go). Maybe this why!

At one stage of my life, with all the circumstances Palestine, in general and me, in person have passed through, especially after the war on Gaza, I had very little glimpse of hope at starting my postgraduate. Few months following the war, I had been selected for Pathology residency at Cairo University.  I immediately wrote to Liz and Colin Green, who both of them were of great support for Al-Quds Medical school graduates, who always believed in us. Representing the IMET-2000, they didn't hesitate in giving me all the support I needed. Something, for a while, and after the war, thought doesn't exist!

Journey has started and moving on track, not smooth, as every other journey in life, but I'm just loving it....".
