With the current available evidence that supports the use of Continuous Positive Airway Pressure device, commonly known as CPAP for COVID-19 patients as it found to be benefit to patients early in the disease process, and it even may prevent deterioration and reduce the need for invasive ventilation at all.
CPAP assists breathing by supplying a mixture of air and oxygen using positive pressure to help the patient to take deeper breaths, so improving oxygenation without an airway adjunct, via a tight mask or a hood.
Who Should Attend?
Physicians, nurses and anesthesiologists who are caring or expected to care for patients with COVID-19.
Aims and Objectives:
This course is designed for physicians, anesthesiologists and nurses from the governmental health care hospitals of different districts at the west bank, who are working at medical and critical departments. This program specifically aims to:
- Reinforce the recognition of the NIV moods and give the basic knowledge about the needed equipment.
- Demonstrate how to assemble the UCL-vetura CPAP machine and use it
- Provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of noninvasive ventilation in acute and chronic settings.
