Emergency Nursing Core Training: Basic Electrocardiogram Interpretation (ECG)

Who Should Attend?
Nurses, senior supervisors and others who need to develop their skills.

Aims and Objectives:
This course is designed for emergency nurses from the governmental health care hospitals of different districts at the west bank, who are working at the emergency department. This program specifically aims to:
1. Describe the normal cardiac anatomy and physiology and normal electrical conduction through the heart.
2. Identify and relate waveforms to the cardiac cycle.
3. Understand the different lead placements and purpose of each placement.
4. Utilize a systematic process when approaching the interpretation of the ECG.
5. Identify normal and abnormal components on ECG.
6. Recognize sinus, atrial, junctional and ventricular dysrhythmia on ECG and relate cause, significance, symptoms and treatment.
7. Identify three pacemaker malfunctions.
8. Discuss the emergency nurse's role in the ECG interpretation.

Location and Time:
The training will be held in Continuing Education Hall/ Medical Referrals Building (Old Building of the Ministry of Health), Ramallah city at 
January 17, 2015.

Gender: Males and Females.

Age: no age limit.
